The company won this national award for its installation of a 16.08 kilowatt (kW) solar power system at the Davis residence in Severna Park, Maryland. “The Customer home is situated in the shade of old oak trees with a slate roof that included various complicated roof pitches”, said Jason Brennan, Project Manager. “Built in a critical area, there was no chance of improving the home’s solar access, so we focused our efforts on their boat house which is at the end of a 280 foot pier and has excellent southern exposure. Mr. Davis owns a software company and has an appreciation of advanced technology. When the X21 series was introduced, the Davis’s decided it was time to go solar. With limited space on the boathouse roof and an eye for aesthetics, the 335 Signature Black panel was decided on. By using SunPower’s most efficient panels, the Davis’s were able to maximize the potential of their roof, significantly reduce their reliance on the power company, and enjoy a beautiful waterfront view of the sun at work!”

September 29, 2014 – Solar Ground Mount in Cooksville Maryland
This Solar Ground Mount in Cooksville Maryland consists of 48 Solar World solar panels using Iron Ridge ground mounting system. The projected energy production is 17,234 kilowatt-hours per year.

“We just reached the 10 Megawatt milestone of production (since installation in late April)! We finally finished planting shrubs around our ground-mounted solar system and are finished with installing the stone below it.
I took a picture of our system this morning (see below). We have nothing but kudos for our system and Aurora Energy. We also just received our first SREC check last month.”
September 18, 2014 – 8.4 kW Solarworld Installation in St. Micheals, Somerset County, Maryland
This installation has 30 solar photovoltaic Solarworld 280 watt panels that provide approximately 12,184 kilowatt hours annually. The black on black solar modules occupy the entire south facing roof. 30 SolarEdge OP300 DC/DC Optimizers and one SolarEdge SE 7600A Inverter are used to maximize the energy production.
August 15, 2014 – Solar-Powered Boat House
The boathouse has 48 solar photovoltaic SunPower 335 watt panels that provide approximately 28,172 kilowatt hours annually. The black on black SunPower solar modules occupy the entire south facing boathouse roof.

“With the addition of the 5 new panels I have broken the mirror ceiling and now have produced 3 MWH for April, May and June total. Thanks you very much J because at $180/MWH that is $540 worth of SREC’s. Why people can’t get the power of Solar in their heads is beyond me. It’s the gift that uncle Sam keeps on giving me. June 6, 2014 –Customer is Selling Energy to BGE for 9.1 cents per kWh
Mr. G. H. is selling electricity from his solar panels to BGE for 9.097 cents per kWh.
“BGE installed a Smart meter on my house last month, so now I can chart my electric usage. This graph shows my net daily electricity usage for the current billing period. What makes this graph so interesting is where the 0 kWh level is… most of the graph is below zero.”
“Once a year in April, BGE does a “true-up” of my account where they pay me for any net kWh credits for the previous 12 months. For my April 2014 “true-up”, I had a net credit of 2,804 kWh for the previous 12 months. BGE paid me $255.08 for those credits, which turns out to be 9.097 cents per kWh… pretty cool.”

April 8th, 2014- 13.2 kW Ground Mount system installed in Cooksville, MD. Aurora energy can install solar panels on your roof or on the ground. Often the benefits of a ground mount system can outweigh a roof installation depending on your location and the amount of energy you would like to produce.
March 24th, 2014 – This 13 kW system installed in Odenton, MD consists of 49 SolarWorld (SW 265 mono black) modules. There is no job too big or challenging for our installers.
March 3rd, 2014 – Severe cold weather limited our installation schedule in January and February. Our dedicated installation team continued to meet our installation commitments. The 9.6 kW ground mounted system is installed in Silver Spring using SolarEdge Power Optimizer.
February 14th, 2014 – When Should You Worry About Snow on Solar Panels? In some cases, snow benefited solar power generation. The reflected sunlight from the white snow encouraged production and the snow kept panels cool.
